Every birthing person deserves to have an empowered, informed and sovereign birth. Whether you are planning to give birth at home, or at a birthing center - my essential role is to provide informational, affirmative, physical and emotional support before, during and after your birth.

Your body is designed to give birth. I am passionate about the power of your anatomy, physiology and the strength of the mind-body connection during pregnancy, labor and birth. We will envision and plan a safe emotional and physical environment that allows your body to birth your baby.
Evidence shows that when a doula or birth keeper is part of your birth team, labors are shorter with fewer complications, less pain, reduced stress and fewer unnecessary interventions, like forceps and C-sections. Babies are born healthier and breast/chest feed more easily. The risk of postpartum depression is reduced. It would be my honor to offer knowledge, support and confidence.

During your prenatal visits we will discuss your birth philosophy and preferences and create your individual birth plan. I offer guidance, evidence-based education, and information about your patient rights during your labor and birth. We will discuss practical hands-on support during childbirth including comfort measures in addition to practicing numerous coping techniques.
In addition to serving as a great tool to establish your individual philosophy and preferences in birth - developing a birth plan helps easily communicate your needs and wants to your care team if you plan to birth at the hospital or birth center. In these sessions we will discuss all of your options. We can discuss the risks, benefits, and alternatives of many options offered during labor, birth, or pregnancy, and post-birth & newborn care procedures. Based on our discussion, we will create a birth plan together which you can share with your healthcare providers or birthing team.
